Chioma is an accomplished banking and finance professional with over 20 years of experience spanning across various areas, including financial control, performance management, corporate banking, retail banking, credit, and e-banking. He is widely recognised for his strategic leadership in electronic banking product development and marketing, particularly in overseeing credit card transactions and e-payment services. Chioma has demonstrated a strong track record of improving operational efficiencies, managing complex relationships with vendors and service providers, and driving innovative solutions in the banking sector. As the Managing Director and CEO of CoralPay Tech Ltd, Chioma is responsible for global business strategy, transaction processing, and settlement operations. He manages relationships with payment associations, vendors, clients, and regulatory institutions, ensuring the company’s infrastructure meets all regulatory license demands. His leadership has significantly contributed to CoralPay’s global business expansion and operational efficiency. Previously, as Group Head of Card Services and E-payment Processing at Zenith Bank Plc, he was instrumental in developing and implementing electronic payment systems and card products that improved service delivery, particularly for the unbanked and mass markets. His efforts led to the bank winning multiple awards in e-banking and achieving considerable improvements in business operations and customer satisfaction.
Chioma’s leadership was also pivotal in the successful adoption of e-payment policies, contributing to the growth of the Nigerian banking sector. Chioma’s expertise extends beyond retail banking to corporate and investment banking, energy, oil and gas, and credit services. He is skilled in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial analysis, and he has successfully managed large-scale projects and introduced technological advancements to improve banking operations. Throughout his career, Chioma has worked with prominent institutions such as Ecobank Group, MBC International Bank, and Citizens International Bank, where he led efforts to implement cutting-edge banking technologies and build strong client relationships. Chioma holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Benin, Nigeria, and a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the same institution. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Retail Banking and a Member of the World Bank Integration Committee of Payment Switches in the ECOWAS region. He also serves as the Policy Secretary to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Committee on E-banking Heads in Nigeria.
